First Contact started its life delivering contact rugby to schools so you can be assured that during this time its coaches have built a huge repertoire of coaching skills and knowledge. Its lead coaches all have the RFU Level 2 certificate and all assistants are qualified to level 1, so you can be satisfied of high quality rugby coaching with safe and up to date practices. Always moving with the times our coaches take regular up to date personal development training so as they are always up to date with new ideas and practices. Our coaches are trained in all positions and areas of the men’s and women’s game and we also have coaches with specific areas of expertise e.g. front row or 9 – 10 partnership. We supply all the equipment for the sessions; this includes 20 tackle suits, 8 tackle tubes in two sizes, SAQ and core stability training aids, passing developers and much more. Here follows some of the ways we can help: Team Coaching
After School Training Sessions At after school sessions our coaches, will not only deliver them for you but will also provide all the equipment needed to make a fun and dynamic session. They will also help your school find games for its teams and if required aid players in the run up for festivals etc. We will also help players with personal development practices and pathways to see them succeed where able to representative level. We can help you with posters to advertise the sessions and flyers to take home to the parents to explain what the sessions entail. Curricular Sessions These can be delivered as above and can help build the level of participation at the after school clubs by delivering the sport to a wider audience.
Refereeing All our coaches however new will be put on the first available RFU referees course this allows them to help ref your school games and practices. They are asked to keep up with personal development and work on their match positioning and new law changes so as to facilitate your school games. One on One Coaching If desired we can offer one on one coaching at your home or school, e.g. this may be for a player who has never played rugby and is moving up to a rugby playing school and wants to try and get ahead of the game. All coaches are CRB checked and have been trained in these situations. A parent or teacher must be on site while the session takes place. Warning! We will always be happy to show you our coaches' RFU qualifications, referee certificates and any other documentation you may require in advance of any training sessions. These are a must to back up your schools insurance cover. Rugby is a contact sport if delivered wrongly to the wrong person you cannot only end up with a serious injury but a huge liability claim also. Use good practice and principles and see documentation.
