Tag rugby is the non-contact version of the popular team game Rugby. Boys and girls of any age and ability, adults and disability players can play tag rugby separately or with one another. Coaches now working for First Contact were some of the first coaches to introduce this fast, fun and dynamic game into the Hampshire schools, so you can be assured of quality coaching to your players. The game, although rugby based has all the A B C s of Sport within it and is based on spatial awareness and team play. First Contact coaches are trained in using a multi - skills approach to make the sessions fun and totally interactive. Sessions would involve small sided games to promote Agility, Balance and Co-ordination skills using balls, tags and leading to game related activities. Tag rugby can be played indoors and out on grass, tarmac and most flat surfaces, our coaches can adapt the game to suit any of these your school may have. Tag rugby is widely played in Hampshire schools involving RFU, Police and Sports partnership festivals all year round so there is always a game to be played. We also encourage inter school games and dinnertime in-house school tournaments. All festivals and tournaments have a fair play award. Fair play is encouraged by all agencies involved in tag rugby and this works side by side with the ethos of respect and fair play that is pursed and actively encouraged by all those involved. Refereeing All our coaches however new will be put on the first available RFU referees course this allows them to help ref your school games and practices. They are asked to keep up with personal development and work on their match positioning and new law changes so as to facilitate your school games. Warning! We will always be happy to show you our coaches RFU qualifications, referee certificates and any other documentation you may require in advance of any training sessions. These are a must to back up your schools insurance cover |
