Governing body insurance cover

All coaches are also covered by their Governing bodies insurance, which covers them for all Coaching activities in schools including refereeing, if the coach holds the governing bodies certificate related to it.
RFU insurance cover includes contact rugby as long as the coach holds a level of Qualification.

*For contact rugby the school must hold its own insurance cover for teams, pupils, teachers and internal & external coaches.

Child Protection

Our aim is to insure that all risks are minimised for both parties when children come directly into contact with adults, thus ensuring fun non-risk coaching sessions for all involved.

When left in our care we will aim to insure that your child receives correct instruction from a trained coach delivered in a safe environment. They will be respected and treated as an individual whatever their needs, abilities, background and faith.

Our policies are available to be viewed at any time on request. These are:

  • Child Protection
  • Equity
  • Equality
  • Accident/Incident reporting book
  • Risk assessment forms

To further our aim:

  • All First Contact coaches must hold a current CRB form, which is updated on a regular basis. Their numbers can be viewed at any time on request.
  • All new coaches or trainees are CRB checked straight away and must work with an experienced coach until fully checked.
  • All coaches will undergo regular ongoing training in child protection and working with children with disabilities, as part of their portfolio.
  • All coaches must hold or be working towards a minimum of three Sports Coach UK awards which are:
  • How to coach disabled people in sport
  • Equality in your coaching
  • Child protection

On top of this all coaches must hold or be working towards a current First Aid certificate.
